Tips for Choosing an Orange County Plastic Surgeon

Orange County Plastic Surgeon

When choosing an Orange County plastic surgeon, you need to conduct in-depth research. This surgeon should be board-certified, have a positive reputation, come with many references, and have years of expertise in the cosmetic surgery procedure you want. Choosing an Orange County plastic surgeon is a major decision and should be made with careful consideration. This means not choosing a surgeon based on low prices or the recommendation of a single friend. The doctor should be a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons. When performed properly, plastic surgery is safe and produces great results; unfortunately, people have had devastating results and have even died at the hands of an unskilled, unlicensed or unqualified surgeons. Regardless of the plastic surgery procedure you are seeking, it is essential to take your time and do lots of research before making your final decision.  Make sure you see before and after photos and references from any plastic surgeon you consider for your cosmetic surgery.  Last, but not least, listen to your gut feelings.  A good doctor should seem confident (not cocky) and make you feel at ease.  If you feel that something is shady, it probably is.

I found out that a doctor that is not even a plastic surgeon can do surgeries like breast augmentation and tummy tuck. I think it is crazy to go to a doctor that is trained as an ENT or an OBGYN to have a cosmetic surgery. Are people crazy??? How do these doctors even get away with it? Can they really go to a weekend class on how to do a breast augmentation and then just start advertising cheap breast augmentation on the radio, calling themselves “cosmetic surgeon?” This is especially bad in Orange County and Los Angeles where the competition is so high that women don’t even know that they are not going to a plastic surgeon when they go to a “cosmetic surgeon.” What’s worse, I know that sometimes they are asked if they are board certified and they say yes! But they are board certified in ENT or OBGYN!!! Be careful!!! It is a good point to say that they need to be Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (and nothing else!).
